Nobdody's Soli Fall'25

🇯🇵 日本語 | 🇺🇸 English

Every autumn, Nobdody’s drops a fresh colorway of the Soli skull cap. This year’s Fall ’25 collection is a collaboration between Nobdody’s and Haily Thompson of watercolorwoods — an Alaska-based artist whose watercolor work draws from the landscapes and wildlife of the far north.

Arrival in Hokkaido is scheduled for mid-December. The caps are already listed in the Web Shop — link in bio 🔗

Three Colorways: Alaska’s Wildlife in Watercolor

This season’s three designs are inspired by creatures and textures of the Alaskan wild: Mushroom, Salmon, and Heron. Each carries Haily Thompson’s characteristic warmth and organic feeling — quietly alive with the land and rivers she paints from.

What’s Changed for Fall ’25

The material has been updated from neoprene to natural rubber — a more eco-conscious choice that also improves stretch, so the Soli now fits a wider range of head sizes comfortably. The L/XL size (57cm) stays the same as before; the S/M has been enlarged by 1cm, making it accessible to more people than last season.

Since Packraft Hokkaido began carrying the Soli, orders have been coming in from all across Japan. Within Hokkaido alone, Soli-wearing paddlers are now showing up from the south to the far east — and the idea of a trip tracing all of their home rivers is starting to feel less like a dream and more like a plan.

Pricing Note

The Fall ’24 model is now on close-out sale — if you’ve been wanting last year’s colorways, this is your window (L/XL is fully sold out). Due to rising costs, the Soli price will be updated starting with the Fall ’25 model; the Guru will be updated from January 2026 onward.

The Nobdody’s Brand Story

For those outside Japan who may be encountering Nobdody’s for the first time, here’s the story behind the name.

“Nobdody cares how high you run the Little White (River).”

This line appeared on 100 custom bumper stickers ordered by a paddling friend named Leif. The word “Nobody” was accidentally spelled with an extra “d” — and that typo became the brand name. It’s not just a quirky story: it’s the guiding philosophy. Don’t take yourself — or your sport — too seriously. Keep the humor. Keep the ease.

Nobdody’s is designed and tested in White Salmon, Washington, a town on the Columbia River Gorge where sun and rain meet — and where the Little White Salmon River and White Salmon River draw serious whitewater kayakers from around the world. Co-founders Sam and Sarina, both passionate whitewater kayakers, set out to design a skull cap comfortable and stylish enough to wear all day, every day, under a helmet in any season.

The idea started during a Grand Canyon kayak trip: they had a skull cap for warmth but nothing to block the sun, and wearing both a skull cap and a brimmed hat under a helmet wasn’t possible. The first 12 prototypes were sewn by Sarina on a home sewing machine in a spare room. The design challenges were solved with help from friends at IR (Immersion Research) — the whitewater apparel company based across the river in Hood River, Oregon — who contributed their manufacturing expertise to bring the Soli to its current form.
