Snow Hike + α.
I headed out expecting the spring snowmelt to have pushed the river up. Instead — whether from the cold snap that had continued through the week — the water was so low the paddle blade could barely get a full stroke in.

Ski shoes mounted on the packraft.
By water volume alone, it wasn’t what anyone would call good conditions.
And yet — packraft and snow hiking together is still something else entirely.
Walk across the snow. Lower the boat at the water’s edge. Paddle, even for a short stretch. Pick up the boat and walk again. Even in thin water, the sensation of treating snow and river and mountain as a single continuous field to move through — that stays. Only a packraft makes it feel so seamless.

Approaching the river by sliding down a snowy slope with the packraft on my back.
