Each autumn, Nobdody’s releases a new colorway of their neoprene skull cap, the Soli. The Fall ’25 collection is a collaboration with Alaska-based artist Haily Thompson (@watercolorwoods), whose watercolor work draws directly from the landscapes and wildlife of Alaska.

The caps arrived in Hokkaido in mid-December and are already listed in the Web Shop (link in bio 🔗).

Three Colorways Rooted in Alaska

This season’s designs are built around three motifs drawn straight from Alaskan nature and waterways: Mushroom / Salmon / Heron. Each colorway carries Haily Thompson’s characteristic warmth — earthy, flowing, quietly alive with the texture of the Alaskan land and its rivers.

What’s New in Fall ’25

Material update: neoprene → natural rubber. The switch to natural rubber reduces environmental impact while improving elasticity, meaning the Soli now fits a wider range of head shapes and sizes comfortably.

Sizing update: The L/XL size (57cm) remains unchanged. The S/M size has been enlarged by 1cm compared to last year, making it more accessible for people who had previously found it a touch too small.

Soli Is Spreading Across Hokkaido

Since Packraft Hokkaido began carrying the Soli, orders have been coming in from all across Japan — and within Hokkaido, paddlers wearing Soli are now showing up along rivers from the south to the far east. There’s a quiet dream taking shape: a trip that traces the home rivers of Soli-wearing paddlers across the island.

A Note on Pricing

The Fall ’24 Soli is currently on close-out sale — if you’ve been eyeing last season’s colorways, now is the time (L/XL is already sold out). Due to rising costs, the Soli will see a price adjustment starting with the Fall ’25 model; the Guru will be updated at the next restock.

The Story Behind the Name

“Nobdody cares how high you run the Little White (River).”

This line appeared on a custom bumper sticker ordered by a paddling friend named Leif — with an extra “d” accidentally inserted into “Nobody.” That typo became the brand name.

The philosophy behind it: don’t get too caught up in comparison or competition. Enjoy your time, on your river, in your own way. That humor and lightness is the soul of Nobdody’s.

Founded by Sam and Sarina — passionate whitewater kayakers based in White Salmon, Washington, on the Columbia River Gorge — the Soli was born from a desire to have something comfortable enough to wear under a helmet all day, every day, through every season. An idea sparked during a Grand Canyon kayak trip eventually evolved, with technical support from the team at IR (Immersion Research), into the cap it is today.

If you’d like to try one on in person, there are plans to bring Soli to future events and meetups. If we cross paths on the river, don’t hesitate to ask for a try.
