One Size Only

The Zephyr comes in a single size. There’s no size selection to make — instead, the relevant question is whether your body type, load, and intended use are compatible with how the boat is built.

Specs

Length: 332 cm / Width: 82.5 cm / Interior width: 36.2 cm / Weight: approx. 3.6 kg / Max load: approx. 108 kg

The dimensions are designed around the balance between straight-line tracking and stability on flatwater.

Height and Fit

Up to 160 cm: Nimble and comfortable. Plenty of foot room. Good sense of connection to the water surface. Proper paddling technique brings out the Zephyr’s performance more fully.

160–175 cm: Best fit range. Strong thigh-to-seat connection, good balance between stability and control. This is the design’s natural zone. Extended sessions remain comfortable.

175–185 cm: Legs extend somewhat forward; the angle is relaxed but not a problem for most paddling. The interior has reasonable width for taller paddlers. Larger builds benefit from paying closer attention to load placement and gear distribution.

Weight and Buoyancy

Max load is approximately 108 kg.

Up to ~80 kg: comfortable with clear buoyancy margin. 80–100 kg: works well. Approaching 108 kg: buoyancy reserve decreases and handling becomes heavier.

The Zephyr is optimized for cruising on calm water — overpacking reduces the hull’s responsiveness and tracking performance.

How Load Changes the Feel

Light load (small dry bag or day kit): Full buoyancy, handling stays sharp, tracking improves.

Medium load (several small items): Slight stern sink, paddling remains manageable, strokes need to be more deliberate.

Heavy load (multiple bags): Stability decreases, handling becomes sluggish, the Zephyr’s core performance characteristics are lost.

For multi-day trips or heavy loads, the Caribou or Expedition are better-suited platforms.

Tips to Improve Fit

Foot bracing: The Zephyr is open deck with no built-in foot brace. A Bow Bag Liner or Lap Bag used at the feet provides an effective substitute for leg support during longer sessions.

Seat and back band position: The Zephyr includes a foam back band. Adjusting it to support a good upright posture improves both comfort and paddle efficiency, and significantly reduces fatigue on longer paddles.

Who Fits Best

160–175 cm in height; up to around 90 kg; light to moderate gear load; primarily flatwater use. This combination gets the most out of what the Zephyr is designed to do. Outside this range, the boat still works — but load management and posture adjustments become more important.

Summary

The Zephyr is one size, but body-to-boat fit still shapes the experience. Smaller to average build with light kit on calm water: excellent. Taller build or heavier load: manageable with adjustments. High-load expedition or whitewater use: consider other models.
