The American Packrafting Association (APA) will hold its annual gathering, Packraft Roundup, from July 15 to 19, 2026, at Hot Springs Campground along the South Fork Payette River in Idaho.
Event Overview
The five-day gathering opens with a two-day swiftwater rescue course run by the Swiftwater Safety Institute on July 14–15, followed by on-water clinics led by Cascade Raft & Kayak on July 16–17.
Evenings bring communal meals, vendor booths, gear raffles, and speaker sessions. Friday night’s program includes the Packraft Olympics, themed Eddyline Disco this year.
Registration
Tickets are sold through Neon CRM and are expected to sell out before the event. Pricing is not listed on the event page. The Support a Paddler Fund, which helps cover costs for paddlers who need it, closed applications on June 22.
The event is open to paddlers of all experience levels, with rental gear available for newcomers.

In Japan, since the overall number of paddlers and pack rafters is still small, I think it will be some time before we see APA-style initiatives, but once the industry matures and group events like those organized by the APA are held, I believe it will mature even further.
