On Saturday, September 26, 2026, the “International Packraft Film Festival” (hereinafter IPFF) will be held at the self-catering building of the Donkoro Outdoor School in Minami-Furano, Hokkaido. It had previously been revealed through an announcement on his Instagram that packrafter Takuya Tsuboshima’s film combining ice climbing and packrafting had been nominated. While the nominated film has been screened in various countries around the world, starting from Anchorage, Alaska, it has now been confirmed that it will also be screened in Hokkaido.
Event Details
The event will take place on September 26, 2026, starting at 6:00 p.m. The venue is the self-catering building at Donkoro Outdoor School in Minami-Furano, Hokkaido. Admission is 500 yen; if you wish to stay overnight, the fee is 1,000 yen.
According to a post on Mr. Tsuboshima’s Instagram, many details have yet to be finalized, but as of now, the event is planned to have a “laid-back, relaxed vibe.” Walk-ins are welcome, but attendees are encouraged to contact the organizers in advance so they can estimate headcount. Since this marks Packraft Hokkaido’s first screening event in Hokkaido, the group plans to provide sponsored merchandise.
Nominated Work
The same post reveals that Tsuboshima’s own film has been nominated for this year’s festival.
